London, England, ENG — Charlton Athletic claimed all three points at The Valley, coming from behind to edge Birmingham City in the English League Championship.
Charlton took an early grip on proceedings when Sonny Carey opened the scoring in the 27th minute, giving the hosts a deserved lead. Greg Docherty extended the advantage six minutes later, converting in the 33rd minute to put Charlton firmly in control heading into the break.
Birmingham City, who held the majority of possession throughout at 57.3%, pulled one back through Marvin Ducksch in the 69th minute to set up a tense finale. The visitors' pressure, however, proved short-lived. Charlie Kelman restored Charlton's lead just five minutes later, striking in the 74th minute to seal the victory and send The Valley into celebration.
